We were commissioned by a leading UK Burlesque artist to bring her vision to life—a custom set of Ostrich Feather Fans that would elevate her stage presence.
The challenge was ambitious: hand-dye premium Ostrich feathers to mirror the exact hues of her costume fabric, creating a seamless gradient that would catch the stage lights with every movement. We experimented with our dye techniques, testing colour transitions until we achieved the perfect ombre effect—a flowing blend that felt organic rather than mechanical.
The result was a uniquely beautiful set of fans. Each movement reveals layers of colour and texture, transforming the feathers into living artwork. They're not just accessories; they're a statement of craft and collaboration between artist and maker.
